Donovan's Relatives

Breeding to DOnovan nf

Donovan was shown in the Region 5 USDF Breeders Series in 2006.  He received the RMDS Andalusian Champion ribbon and  first place in the two year old colt qualifying class.

Donovan was chosen to be one of our breeding stallions based on  his outstanding pedigree.  His sire, Saphiro, was IALHA National Champion in his Junior Stallion class and his grandsire, Umbaba, is a National Champion in Portugal.  His dam's sire is Dacio S who was an IALHA National Champion during the 1980's.   He was one of the highest appointed stallions ever exported from Spain and scored 94 points in his evaluation as a 3 year old.  Dacio S was a Terry bred stallion that came from Pedro Salas' farm in Spain and was owned by Barbara Currie in the US.

Donovan nf  has wonderful and traditional Andalusian confirmation.  The way that his neck meets his shoulder is going to allow him the freedom in his shoulder to move very well in the gaits, especially for extended trot (once we get there!).  And the length and elegance of his neck will free up his forehand and allow him to balance more easily.  He has a very nice low tail set and round quality to his overall presentation.  His movement is scopey with beautiful suspension and reach.  His hind legs reach well under himself and he has a graceful uphill manner of moving. All of these qualities make him an exceptional dressage prospect!

He is now started under saddle and Summer 2008 we will begin his show career in Region 5 USEF/USDF recognized shows.
